I definitely have no intention to teach anyone anything about the title. In fact, I if I did, I'd rather be having people trusty enough to believe I can, paying me some amount of money for listening to my dissertations at fancy hotel conference halls. Instead, I am going express some feelings that have been populating my mind during these days, concerning the matter.
First of all, when for some reason it's hard to move on, I think one of the key aspects to be able to, is to use as base what we have been able to achieve. Consider that everyone of us was once just a child with nothing but dreams, and in the lights of that perspective we can look at ourselves and try to match any of those dreams to some of the achievements we've made during our life. Definitely, any dream we may have had as children and that we be able to remember now, will be something that marked our existences. If that doesn't work out, then we can try harder to envision what have we done. There will be, for sure, accomplishments we made.
Secondly, once we found that push we need, by just looking at what we accomplished, or if we just couldn't, we can take a look into the future. Chances are, we still have some time to achieve that, we identified will help us complete as a human being. About this, I know a little. Three years ago doctors discovered I had a tumor in my spinal cord. The first doctor just said that I couldn't make it. Surgery was too risky and without the operation the tumor would grow until completely severing my spinal cord. Of course, I didn't die (that's another story), but the point is that even when I thought I was going to be gone soon, I still had plans for my life (what hypothetically remained of it). So under normal circumstances, we will always have as fertile field, the time we have ahead. It doesn't matter how much time, even a little is a lot.
After the exercise of taking impulse from what was successfully left behind, or appreciating the chances of achieving any goal, in the big or little amount of time we have ahead, I consider there's another step to take. If the picture we see of ourselves as of now doesn't make us happy, I discovered that we can change almost everything. There are some regions of the globe, where there are really near to zero chances to change our lives. Destiny seems to be written in stone for a few, and as hard as that is to know, it's important that we be aware of it. Mainly, because if you are able to read this, you are not in that group. If you have access to the Internet, can understand English, can understand this text or can just read any language, I can surely bet that you do have a chance to change your life.
Many times I get to know people that get depressed because they think they can't change the world. They have great ideas, ideals and dreams. And that's just amazing. That's the main and biggest starting point, for the persons I referred to above (the ones with little chances to change their lives) to be able to change their destinies. But in order for the dreamers to be closer to their objectives, actions have to be taken. Motivation and time can work miracles. Capacity and effort can too. The only thing we need is the will to make the decisions and carry them on.
